Pandemonia
"By creating a plastic, inflatable character, the anonymous artist behind Pandemonia manifested a truly artificial celebrity that has finally achieved what all insta-celebs crave: an immutable sense of fame, youth and allure." - Morgan
Morgan is a freelance photographer and creative director or queer magazine Posture.
I contacted him about featuring his photography work of Pandemonia via Instagram, to which he positive responded and sent over the files (evidence below).
Reasons why I wanted to feature (links to essay):
- relates to part of my essay that discusses women magazines and how they place women in boxes of identity archetypes. One being the stay at home housewife.
- the way that the women is presented as a blow up doll suggests an undertone of sexuality and relates to the issue of women being used for the male gaze as sexual objects
