GUISE
Guise is a zine, with each issue having a different theme for its content. This particular theme focuses on the identification and transformative nature of particular creatives.
- This introductory message is a necessary feature of the zine as it sets the tone and confirms the content and what to expect
- This particular zine is illustration based, but features elements of photography and digital art which compliment each other well
- PINK is a recurring colour, which seems to represent femininity and gender expression
- The collumns of text present themselves as a fashion editorial would, however there isn't much experimentation, the layout is basic
How I could apply this style of zine to my own:
- Reinforces how important colour is for each type of vibe, whether feminine, masculine, neutral for anything in between - should be a main focus
- Is a contents page necessary? If the zine will be over 40 pages a contents page would give it more structure
- Contents - Do i want to include stories, interviews and experiences of peoples experiences with gender identity - or do I keep it strictly visual and use the photographs and design as the only representation.
